Subject Keen For Some Quick Energy Fixes?

I'm not normally one to advocate quick fixes, but when you're in need of a quick energy fix, these 5 simple at-home exercises that you can do any time of the day (no coffee needed!) are the answer to your tired prayers!

All too often we try to overcome a groggy morning/afternoon slump by reaching for the nearest pick me up. However, this only makes the problem worse by leading to an even bigger state of exhaustion as you go through your day. The great news is, there’s a better way! Instead of trying to fight fatigue with added sugar and caffeine, you can easily boost your energy with some simple daily exercises that you can do at home (or at least close to it). Here are 5 quick exercises you can do any time of day - no coffee needed!

  1. Brisk Walk:A great way to increase your energy (and make sure it stays that way during the day) is to add a brisk walk to your daily routine. Walking has been known to help lower blood pressure, boost metabolism and aid in digestion as well as providing your body with a serious energy boost. Whether you jump on the treadmill or put your feet to the pavement, walking will get your blood pumping and give your body an extra dose of oxygen. Not only will your energy skyrocket, your overall mood will improve as well. That’s a win-win!

  1. Freeform Dancing:If you want a fun, easy way to boost your energy, all you need to do is turn up the tunes and start moving. There’s just something about a good song or two that puts you in a good mood. Add some of your best dance skills to the mix and you’ve got a great way to get your heart pumping while having a little fun in the middle of your kitchen. No matter how drained you feel at the start, freeform dancing can be used as a pick me up no matter what time of day it is. To make this fun activity more of a habit, set aside 5-10 minutes a day to bust out your favorite playlist and get your feet moving to the music.

  1. Jumping Rope (Or Jumping Jacks):If you’re looking for a great way to get your blood pumping without needing a lot of space, try jumping rope or do a few sets of jumping jacks. This exercise can be done anywhere and is the perfect way to give yourself a quick energy boost when you’re short on time. Increased energy isn’t the only benefit you’ll receive from doing this full body workout. Jumping rope can help increase coordination, build stronger muscles, assist in weight loss and improve heart health to name a few. If you need a quick pick me up throughout the day, this simple exercise is the way go.

  1. Yoga:If you’re wanting to kick off your day feeling refreshed and renewed, you’re going to want to include some yoga and breathwork into your routine. Yoga is known to provide a natural energy boost through movement, breathwork and meditation. Yoga provides a space to focus on better breathing techniques – as the quality and length of each breath you take improves, so will your energy levels because you are providing fresh oxygen throughout your body in an intentional, focused way. The best part is, you don’t have to spend a ton of time doing yoga – 5 to 10 minutes a day will get you headed in the direction of better health and higher overall energy to get you through the day.

  1. Bike it:Jumping on a bike is a simple way to give your body a quick round of cardio while boosting your mood and energy at the same time. Whether you’re on a stationary bike in your bedroom or you take your 10 speed for a trek around the block, this low-impact exercise will have you feeling more productive and focused for the day ahead. Not only will you have more energy, but cycling helps to strengthen muscles and burn more calories as you ride. No matter how busy you are, cycling is super easy to fit into your daily routine and can be a game changer when it comes to maintaining your energy levels throughout the day. If you want to kick it up a notch, cycling can be a super-efficient way to get around town and save you a tonne in petrol money as well. Not only that, but you’ll also get the benefit of fresh air and sunshine on the way to your destination.

Instead of opting for the large coffee with a double shot of espresso, try a few of these simple exercises for a quick pick me up. You’ll be amazed at how much more focused and productive you feel when you boost your energy the natural way with good old-fashioned exercise.
